The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) does not develop standards but accredits Standards Development Organizations (SDOs) to perform this service. The scope of the SCC accreditation is for the process of standards development and intended to deliver standards that will advance the Canadian economy, support sustainable development, benefit the health, safety and welfare of workers and the public, assist and protect consumers, facilitate domestic and international trade and further international cooperation in relation to standardization. The SCC-Accredited SDOs develop and maintain National Standard of Canada (NSC), which include adoptions of international/regional standards, to meet the needs of Canadian stakeholders. The following twelve SCC-Accredited SDOs are in good standing: Air-Conditioning, Heating, & Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) www.ahrinet.org; ASTM International www.astm.org; Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ) www.bnq.qc.ca; Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) www.tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca; Canadian Standards Association (operating as CSA Group) www.csa.ca; CIO Strategy Council https://ciostrategycouncil.com; Health Standards Organization (HSO) https://healthstandards.org/; Human Research Standards Organization Inc.
